Sony Corp. is planning to cut some 10,000 jobs over the next two fiscal years, following four straight years of losses as the company has failed to compete with Apple Inc.? and Samsung Electronics Co., the Wall Street Journal reports.
The possible layoffs are part of a restructuring plan by Sony's new chief executive officer, Kazuo Hirai.
Hirai is working to turn around the company's struggling electronics business.
